32-year-old Chinedu Emmanuel Nnalue, is currently cooling his heels at the Anambra State Police station for hacking his 59-year-old father, Nwafor Nnalue, to death during an argument.
Chinedu was said to have killed his father when the deceased advised him not to go back to Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, over fears for his own life and the fact that he had connection to the extremist group, Boko Haram.
According to the Sun News, the late Nnalue and his family were living in Damaturu until had to relocate to Anambra due to the incessant Boko Haram attacks in the state.
The suspect born in the North into a christian family later changed his religion to become a Muslim, after he which he settled down with an indigene of the state, and had two kids by her.
When the family relocated to the East, his wife remained in Damatura with his kids, forcing him to always disturb his family that he wanted to go back to be with his family.
The continuous disagreement turned ugly when the suspect allegedly waited for his mother and sister to go to the farm and before he went to his father’s room where he was sleeping and butchered him him with a machete.
While speaking to newsmen, die hard killer said, “I had to kill my father because he refused to give me permission to go back to Yobe to see my wife and two children who are still living in Damaturu.
“My wife is also heavy with pregnancy and I felt there is need for me to go and see her, but he refused, saying he didn’t want to lose me to Boko Haram.
“My father took me to a herbalist who told us that I should not go back to Yobe State. I used to see my father in my dream disturbing me not to go back to Yobe State because of Boko Haram and because of this I had to kill him.”
