Soldiers Beats Voters Up For Taking Pictures In Lagos

There was a scare in Surulere area of Lagos on Saturday, April 11, 2015 when a team of soldiers beat up a young voter for taking their pictures.

The incident happened at Polling Unit 046, Sam Sonibare Street when the soldiers, who were patrolling the area in a big truck spotted the youth taking snapshots of them.

According to Punch, a brother of the unnamed victim, who gave his name as Ade said: “We were undergoing the accreditation exercise by the polling unit when about 25 soldiers in a truck drove by. My brother brought out his phone to take pictures but when the soldiers saw him, they alighted from their vehicles and descended on him.

“They beat him up and kicked him repeatedly. They then seized the phone and drove off.”
