Unknown gunmen in the evening of Wednesday, April 8, 2015 abducted Salihu Barade the younger of Sokoto State Governor, Aliyu Wamakko.
The gunmen, who were about four in number, stormed Barade’s farm in Wamakko Local Government, whisking him and others who were in his company away.
The kidnappers reportedly freed the others after travelling a reasonable distance before moving ahead with Barade.
The Sokoto state Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP El-Mustapha Sani, who confirmed the incident said the police had begun investigation and were hoping to rescue Barade as soon as possible.
