A 6-year-old boy, had died while trying to save his elder sister from a rapist who stormed their house and attacked her.
Late Dominick Andujar rushed to the scene after his sister, Amber cried for help when the attacker, Osvaldo Rivera ,tried to forcefully have a carnal knowledge of her.
Luck ran out of the poor boy when the attacker faced him and snuffed the life out of him after slashing his throat and that of his sister, although she survived.
His sister who survived the attack ran out into the street with blood pouring from her neck to raise the alarm.
Rivera who lived near the family in Camden, New Jersey, was subsequently arrested and arraigned with 110 years imprisonment.
The 6-year-old boy’s nursery teachers gave his family a diary which he wrote while he was still alive.
It read: “I am a superhero. I save people.”
The attack happened in September 2012, just days away from Andujar school resumption.
His mum, Debbie, who was separated from their father, had recently had an operation and she was in hospital recovering when the sad incident happened.

At his trial last year Amber appeared in court with the scars of her attack visible on her neck and described how he held a knife to her throat, put his hand over her mouth and assaulted her.
She tearfully described her brother’s heroic actions that cost him his life on the “most terrifying day of my life”.
She stated: “Grown men wouldn’t do what Dominick did that day. He’s our soldier and will forever be in our hearts until the day we die.”
