Former Manchester United coach, Sir Alex Ferguson has showered praise on his successor, Louis Van Gaal who has manage to pull the club into fourth place in the Premier League despite a challenging start. This is his first remarks about Van Gaal’s start at the club as he stated that he was right to have made so many changes to the squad despite the criticism from fans and few cross section of the management.
In his statement; “Louis van Gaal has made a lot of changes and maybe he’s doing the right and correct thing, to clear the decks and build his own team, because he’s got the experience and coaching ability to do that, he’s got the reputation to do that. I think the way he’s approached it is brilliant.”
Van Gaal took over from his predecessor, David Moyes after leading Holland to the World Cup Semi-finals, succeeding after the latter had challenging performance as a coach
The Dutchman has spent more than £150million in the last summer transfer, bringing in a number of new players including Angel di Maria from Real Madrid, Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, Dutch midfielder Daley Blind, Spanish hitman Ander Herrera, Argentinian defender Marcos Rojo and England full-back Luke Shaw.
