Shock As Popular Lagos Disc Jockey, DJxgee Commits Suicide

Must read

Seun Omogaji, a Lagos-based disc jockey better known as DJxgee, reportedly committed suicide a day after New Years day after leaving a farewell message on Instagram.

In the message, the deceased urged people to mourn him in white saying it was his favourite colour.

“Okay there is a twist to this last respect ppl give to their loved ones when gone,” he wrote.

“Black as signs of sadness ..but in my case please rock white cos I love this colour so much. To all have made smiled and to those I have pissed off trust me I’m only being human.”

According to reports, he drank an insecticide known as ‘Sniper’ and ended his life.

Sources close to the situation say that he had mental health issues made worse by marital issues with his wife, Bolanle.

Bolanle, the daughter of a former Surulere Local Council boss, Alhaji Uthman, reportedly packed out of the couple’s house in Surulere and refused to return home.

Following his demise, several celebrities and collaborators have paid homage to the disc jockey.

Basketmouth, ace comedian, said: “Together we created some amazing memories, you my friend….you will be missed. I can’t believe that the last time I saw you would be my very last. Rest In Peace blood.”

Veteran comedian Ali Baba said the reported suicide is hard to fathom.

He wrote on Instagram: “The Seun I know, from Odo Street, Obalende, will not kill himself. But, in the mean time, Rest in Peace.”

Wande Coal, a singer who recently worked with DJxgee on his concert, described his death as heartbreaking.

‘This is so heartbreaking! About a week ago look at you sitting right by my side, we were all smiling together on and off stage.”

Daddy Freeze, an on-air personality with Cool FM, also had a few things to say about DJxgee, depression and a troubled marital relationship.

“Rest in peace bro…. Depression is indeed a killer, I’ve been down that road before. My first marriage made me terribly depressed and when my former pastor, told me to fix that marriage; the source of my depression, I realized Satan was truly his god,” Daddy Freeze wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram.
