Gerard Piqué and Shakira have named their newborn son Sasha Piqué Mubarek.
According to the couple, “the name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means ‘defender of mankind’ and ‘warrior,’”
The Colombian-born singer welcomed her second son with partner Gerard Piqué on Thursday January 29, 2015 at a private hospital in Barcelona where she underwent a scheduled Caesarean section.
The couple’s other son Milan, who turned two this month was delivered at the same hospital by the same doctor.
Hospital representatives have confirmed the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer, and her baby are both in excellent health.
