Seyi Tinubu Defends Father’s Legacy, Calls Him ‘Nigeria’s Best President’

Must read

YOLA, Nigeria — Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has described his father as the “greatest president in the history of Nigeria” during a gathering with youths in Adamawa State.

The remarks, captured in a viral video on Monday, March 17, 2025, have sparked widespread discussion across the country.

In his address, Seyi praised his father’s leadership, emphasising his commitment to youth empowerment and economic growth. “It was never politics, but they keep coming for me, they keep coming for my family, they keep coming for your father, they keep coming for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the greatest president in the history of Nigeria,” he declared.

Seyi highlighted President Tinubu’s efforts to create opportunities for young Nigerians, stating, “He is the only president that has kept your people at home, from when he was governor to when he became president, the only president that considers youths, the only president that created a platform for young people to fly.”

He also lauded his father’s economic policies, claiming they have benefitted a broad spectrum of Nigerians.

“The only president that created an economy that has benefitted everybody, the only president that is not trying to enrich his own pocket,” Seyi added.

The younger Tinubu has been actively engaging with communities across Nigeria, particularly in the northern states.

Recently, he has been seen distributing food items and participating in community events.

In March, he joined residents of Kano State, including Hashimu Dugurawa, the state chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), to break the Ramadan fast. He has also visited Yobe State as part of his outreach to youths.

Seyi’s comments come at a time when President Tinubu’s administration faces both praise and criticism over its policies and governance.

While supporters applaud his focus on economic reforms and youth development, critics have raised concerns about the pace of implementation and the impact of certain policies on the cost of living.

The viral video has elicited mixed reactions on social media, with some Nigerians commending Seyi for his loyalty and advocacy, while others view his remarks as overly partisan.
