The Ogun State Police Command has warned the residents of the state against patronising unapproved motor parks in the state, Punch reports.
This was contained in a statement issued by the force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, on Sunday, July 5, 2015.
He observed that the force had arrested some suspected serial rapists and armed robbers who confessed to have been in the habit of picking victims from illegal motor parks across the state.
Adejobi said, “The command has deemed it necessary to sound this note of warning due to some intelligence and concluded investigation reports of some cases of rape, armed robbery and missing persons reported to the police in the state.
“Some serial rapists have made it known to the police that they usually picked people by the roadside, rape and rob them of their belongings before they would drop them off.”
Adejobi said the command had established a “strong link between the crimes and the patronage of unapproved parks”.
He said, “Those, who had been victims, were those who usually stood by the roadside, looking for a cheap ride.
“The command wishes to appeal to the general public to always patronise government approved motor parks in all the zones of the state.”
