Sergio Ramos Injury May Shatter Spanish Hope Of Victory Against Slovakia

Sergio Ramos was ranked ‘the most valuable player’ among the Real Madrid squad of the last UEFA Champions League 2003/2014. He has undoubtedly proven his flawless defensive and attacking skills to help secure the fouth place of the Spanish League table after the shaky beginning of the club.

His performance at his country home is also off the chart as he has evidently claimed the World Cup through his never-say-die attitude in front of the goal post.

The Spanish team however might be having some problem with the recent Ramos injury as he might be missing in Action against Slovakia

Ed Osmond noted that “With Ramos out with a calf strain, Bartra, who is behind Pique in the pecking order at Barca and has been given little playing time under Luis Enrique, has been drafted in”

For Spain’s World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia on Thursday and Luxembourg on Sunday, they are likely to have a weak midfield with Pique and Napoli’s Raul Albiol at centre-half with another option, Javi Martinez, also injured.

Ramos has however defended the team as he believed that the these players are strong and capable to play both matches without him.

“There is no doubt that Pique has been playing for the national team for many years and has done well. He will always have chances,” Ramos told reporters. “We are not worried about any position (in the team). Recently we have had a lot of centre-halves called up so I think the position is well covered.” He told reporters
