Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima, former Governor of Zamfara State has reportedly joined the campaign to bring back the Chibok schoolgirls kidnapped by members of the Islamist terror group, Boko Haram.
The senator made headlines in Nigeria few years ago, when he married a 13-year old girl from Egypt, a marriage that is illegal in her home country. He was also a strong advocate of early child marriage, an act that was condemned all over the globe. Yerima reportedly paid $100,000 as bride price to the girl’s parents.
