Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio was involved in a motor accident in Abuja, Monday, August 31, 2015.
According to reports, his convoy was involved in a collision with another vehicle owned by the US Embassy. A US official, Sani Mohammed who spoke with Premium Times, said that the authorities are investigating the accident.
He was hospitalised at the National Hospital following the accident. According to an aide of the former Akwa Ibom State Governor who spoke with The Trent, “Yes, Senator Akpabio was involved in an accident, but it is not serious.”
Last night, The Trent confirmed that Akpabio had been discharged from the hospital on the same day has his injuries were not serious. Current governor of Akwa Ibom, Mr. Udom Emmanuel visited with Akpabio at this hospital yesterday.
