The Nigerian Senate has just rejected President Muhammadu Buhari’s external borrowing plan of $30 billion, supposedly for the implementation of capital projects, on account of lack of documents to support the request.
The “nays” won when the borrowing plan was put to a vote on the floor of the chamber during the plenary on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
Live social media updates from the Senate’s official communication channels confirm this development.
