NAN – The Senate on Wednesday referred the nomination of Chima Nweze as Justice of the Supreme Court to its Committee on Judiciary for further scrutiny.
Also, the nominations of Retired Capt. Mukhtar Usman as Director-General of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Jonah Madugu as Commissioner in the Federal Civil Service Commission were referred to relevant committees.
Senate President David Mark, who led the plenary, directed the committees to review the nominations and brief the plenary within seven days.
The senate on Tuesday confirmed receipt of the nomination letters from President Godluck Jonathan.
Meanwhile, the consideration of the reports on the Nigeria Public Health Bill 2014, was deferred to another legislative day.
Also, consideration of a Bill for an Act to confer pioneer Status, Tariff Incentives, Income Tax on Automobile and Automotive components was rescheduled for another legislative session.
The bill, when passed into law, would provide for assurance and guarantee by the Federal Government to the automobile and tyre enterprises under the Nigerian Automotive Industry Development Plan.
