The Senate will today screen former Kano State governor Ibrahim Shekarau, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye (Ekiti), Dr. Stephen Orhu (Delta), and Dr. Abdul Bulama (Yobe) for appointment as ministers.
The Upper House will also today debate the latest policy by the Imo State government which mandated all residents of the state from the northern parts of the country to procure and wear identity cards to enjoy free movement within the state.
Senate President David Mark announced yesterday that the screening of the ministerial nominees will take place today.
On the issuance of ID cards to northerners in Imo, a point of order was raised on by the Deputy Senate leader, Senator Abdul Ningi, who noted that the action of the Imo State government was unconstitutional and should be condemned in its totality.
Mark concurred with Ningi and ruled that the issue be exhaustively debated by on the floor today.
