The Headies Award 2015 will forever remain fresh in the minds of music lovers as two industry heavyweights, Olamide and Don Jazzy took a swipe at each other live on stage at the awards held on Friday, January 1, 2015.
The bone of contention was the coveted NEXT RATED category which comes with a star prize of a car and had Lil Kesh, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Cynthia Morgan and Kiss Daniel as nominees.
Lil Kesh is signed to Olamide’s YBNL label and was widely expected to win owing to his hugely successful year which saw him release back to back hit songs.
On the other hand Reekadi Banks (who emerged winner) and Korede Bello are signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records.
The drama started when Olamide and other YBNL artistes stormed the stage to show solidarity to another signee, Adekunle Gold who had won the BEST ALTERNATIVE SONG. Olamide seized the opportunity to take a swipe at both the Mavins and the organisers of the award.

Don Jazzy on his part took to the stage when he received the Special Recognition Award, calling out Olamide and saying if Olamide needed the car, he could get him one.
