NAN – A 26-year-old security guard Ezenwata Ebele, who allegedly stole his employer’s blocks for building was on Tuesday remanded in prison custody by the FCT Area Court in Lugbe.
Ebele of No 6 Pipe line, Gwa-gwa village, Abuja, is standing trial on a two-count charge of criminal breach of trust and theft.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences.
In his ruling, the Senior Judge, Mr Gambo Garba, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody till Feb.16, for sentencing.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Cpl. Anigbo Paul told the court that one Mr Mathias Ezenwaka reported the matter at Lugbe Police Station on Feb.5.
Paul said that the accused went to the complainant’s site located at Idako, Sunny Vale Estate, Abuja, with a Peugeot car and stole his blocks valued at N50, 000.
According to the prosecutor, Ebele was apprehended immediately at the crime scene.
He said that the action contravened sections 312 and 287of the Penal Code.
