Some people were not just made for the nine to five regular people job. Or at least working at a Back River Waste Water Treatment Plant in Baltimore for eight hours certainly doesn’t sound like any fun at all.
Obviously a Baltimore City employee (maintenance supervisor) thought so too, as the said employee spent a mind boggling six hours, forty-six minutes out of an eight hour work day watching a porn DVD barely putting in any work.
Said employee, who brings in his own porn DVD’s to pass time, put in a record 39 hours porn time within a two week, 82 hour, work period. Baltimore IG, Robert Pearre Jr., told the Sun in a report issued by his office that the city had received an anonymous complaint which led city investigators to rig monitoring software on his computer in August, 2014. Could he possibly be doing his job while the characters were doing…what again?
The IG reports state that the DVD was watched in fullscreen mode suggesting that he “little to no work was being performed during the time the ponographic material was visible on the screen.” The report also stated that he earned $1,166 while watching the DVD and that if he had continued for a year, it would mean $28,400 lost to adult activity.
The employee was suspended without pay in September 2014 and fired in January 2015, according to IG Pearre, the porn part was irrelevant stating that the consequences would have been the same if he had been watching sports because the employee was using city time and equipment for non-city functions.
