With Nigerians eagerly anticipating President Muhammadu Buhari, feelers have it that Senate President Bukola Saraki may have already received the list of nominees which is to be read on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday, September 30, 2015.
According to Daily Independent, the list was handed over to Saraki at the end of plenary on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 by the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matter, Senator Ita Enang.
According to a source, no name can be categorically mentioned as the list is being guarded jealously by the Senate President as President Buhari directed that the contents of the letter be read only on the floor of the Senate.
Meanwhile, the Senate has pledged to carry out a thorough screening of the ministerial nominees, while promising not to unnecessarily delay the screening exercise.
The Senate also declared that the traditional “bow and go” in the screening of nominees will not be followed as the screening will be based on merit and competence.
