A 24-year-old female pre-degree student from one a university in the South-South allegedly attempted suicide because she was not admitted into the university after her exams for a degree programme.
After going through the list of successful students who had been offered admission for a degree programme in the University via the internet and found out that her name was not on the list, she decided to poison herself.
Fortunately, her room-mate who noticed what was going on immediately called for help and she was rushed to the hospital.
After series of tests carried out by the doctor in the hospital, it was discovered that she had poisoned herself.
The doctor said if she had stayed a moment longer she would have died.
The doctor administered some drugs to her to help flush out the poison from her system and advised her to take life one step at a time.
