The Nigerian Immigration Service conducted a recruitment exercise nationwide to fill up 3,000 vacant positions and an overwhelming hundreds of thousands of Nigerian youths turned up for the exercise in the various centres.
Tragedy struck in the Abuja centre where seven applicants lost their lives in a stampede, and many others injured. The 60, 000 capacity stadium gathered over 80,000 people who had to use only one entrance.

The dead applicants have been taken to the National Hospital Abuja morgue. May their souls rest in peace…Amen.
