Nwosu was a world class entomologist, an accomplished Agro researcher and former executive director, Nigerian Root Crops Research Institute (NRCI) Umudike, Abia State.
It was gathered that some unknown gunmen shot him on his way home from the office on July 10, 2014 but didn’t disposes him. He was subsequently rushed to the Abia State Specialist Hospital where a team of Medical Experts operated on him.
Nwosu appeared to have survived the attacked after some surgical procedure was carried out on him. For couple of days, while the doctors were waiting for him to be stabilized before further post surgery care, his wife and other family were with him in the hospital.
He received and spoke well to visitors including the state governor, Theodore Orji and his family that visited him on two occasions in the hospital.
The commissioner of information and strategy in a statement assures the citizens of Abia continuous protection of lives and property as the state will stop at nothing to get those behind the evil act that led to the death of Nwosu.
