A three-year-old boy accidentally shot his 26-year-old mother Christa Engles dead in what was referred to as a “horrible, horrible accident,” on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, while she was changing her one-year-old daughter’s diaper in her house in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The little lad apparently discovered the loaded semi-automatic handgun under the sofa and fired a shot, which hit the unsuspecting mother on the head in the apartment which she shares with her mother and husband who were both absent when the sad incident happened.
According to NBC News Engles’ husband, a truck driver who was on the road, arrived home yesterday evening after hearing about the shooting and was only able to confirm his wife’s death by repeatedly calling the hospital.
One of their neighbours said, “The grandmother came in and supposedly found the two children covered in blood.”
Meanwhile, a Tulsa Police sergeant identified as Dave Walker revealed that there were a lot of guns in the house.
He said, “We are prepared to do what we have to do to keep the kid safe – we think this is a horrible, horrible accident,”
