The result of the autopsy carried out on Ronke Shonde, the woman who was reportedly killed by her husband in the Egbeda area of Lagos State is finally out.
Mr Lekan Shonde allegedly beat his wife to death on Thursday, May 5, 2016 following allegations that she was having an affair with the Managing Director of a publishing firm where she worked.
An autopsy was conducted on the deceased mother of two and the result reportedly signed by one Dr. Shoyemi, a Pathologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja, was obtained by detectives around 8:45pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
Police authorities refused to discuss the content of the report but Vanguard was reliably informed that it attributed Ronke Shonde’s death to some injuries in the head. It also revealed that water clustered in her head.
Additionally, the autopsy report further stated that late Ronke Shonde died as a result of respiratory seizure.
The result ruled out the violent bruises on the face of the deceased as the cause of her death.
However, sources said further medical checks finally attributed the cause of her death to “respiratory seizure as a result of water in the head and some injuries also in the head.”
Detectives are expected to enter the next phase of investigation and questioning the suspect who is currently in the custody of the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department ,SCIID, Yaba.
