Former Real Madrid striker, Zinedine Zidane has stated that he believes Cristiano Ronaldo will likely wins more Ballon d’Or titles than his Barcelona lead scorer, Lione Messi.
Ronaldo was named the world’s best player of 2014 on Monday, January 12, 2015 for the second time in La Liga and the third time in his football career so far, leaving him one behind his Barcelona counterpart.
Zidane insists the world has not seen the best of Ronaldo as he feels that he can overtake the Barcelona wing man as time unfolds.
Speaking with reporters on Monday, January 19, 2015 Zidane stated, “Ronaldo will win more Ballon d’Or.
“What he is doing is from another planet. If this continues, he will improve even further and may end up winning more than Messi.”
The France international also commended his fellow national, Karim Benzema, stating that he is another pivotal player for Real Madrid.
“He is another very important player. Sometimes it is discussed whether to change to him to a No.9 for Madrid and its wrong. All wrong.
“He is not a player who will score 60 goals a year like Cristiano, but thanks to his quality, he links up with everyone and always makes the moves that the team needs.
“Very few in the world can do that,” he stated
Zidane is currently the coach of Madrid’s B team and admitted he there are huge chances he takes over the first team much later in the future.
“Me as the future first-team coach? We will see, for now, I’m with the Castilla and I’m fine.
“We will see what happens in the future,” he concluded.
