Former Real Madrid defender, Roberto Carlos has revealed he is in talks with Real Madrid about becoming part of new manager Zinedine Zidane’s backroom staff.
“I had a meeting with Real Madrid about my future with the club,” he said. “Soon I will know how I can collaborate with Zidane’s Madrid.
“Zidane is a leader in the dressing room. His personality is going to make him very successful. A coach has to befriend his players and Benítez struggled to form a bond with them,” Carlos explained.
The Brazilian is currently a player-manager at Indian club, Delhi Dynamo but will be remembered fondly by Real Madrid fans for the over 500 appearances he made for the club over an eleven year period of 1996-2007.
The 42-year-old also has great news for Real Madrid fans. He feels he can help the club snatch the highly rated Neymar from rivals, Barcelona.
“I can take him to Real Madrid. He’s very young. I am sure next year he will finish even higher in the Ballon d’Or,” Carlos noted.
