ERUWA, Nigeria – A tragic scene unfolded on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic in Eruwa of Oyo State, when a National Diploma (ND) 2 Mass Communication student was found dead in her room with machete wounds and her eyes removed.
The student, known only as Dasola, was among those taking part in the ongoing first-semester examination at the institution.
At the time of this report, the circumstances surrounding her brutal murder remain unclear.
According to Vanguard, a friend and coursemate of Dasola, who became concerned when she didn’t show up for Thursday’s examination, went to her home in the Ile Idibo area.
The friend found Dasola’s door locked from the outside, suggesting no one was inside.
It is reported that some of her fellow students, who were also her neighbors, noticed a disturbing odor emanating from the room.
Upon looking through her window, they discovered Dasola’s lifeless body and raised an alarm, attracting attention from those nearby.
The school’s management has reportedly been alerted to the incident, and the ongoing examinations have been suspended for a day out of respect for the deceased student.
The Eruwa Police Division has been informed and has arranged for Dasola’s body to be moved from her room and taken to the General Hospital, Eruwa.
An investigation has commenced to identify and apprehend her killers.
