A young girl believed to be a student of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma was on Thursday, April 30, 2015 crushed to death by a lorry along Uhumudumu Road in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo state.
The accident caused serious gridlock for several hours as crowd of sympathizers gathered at the scene to catch a glimpse, according to The Nation.
According to an undisclosed source, tragedy struck when a commercial motorcycle popularly known as Okada carrying the deceased tried to overtake another Okada when he suddenly collided with the lorry before the girl fell to the road and got crushed.
The remains of the young girl whose identity is yet unknown was taken to a nearby morgue by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Iruekpen Division.
In the meantime, there is yet to be an official confirmation of the incident by the state police command.
