The Benue State Commissioner for Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mr. Aondowase Chia, reportedly slumped in the early hours of Wednesday, March 4, 2015.
He was rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi where he eventually gave up the ghost at about 6:30 am.
This development is coming up a day after his budget defense in the state.
This is not the first of its kind in the state under the administration of Governor Gabriel Suswam.
According to Punch, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prof. Saint Gbilekaa, who led members of the state executive council on a sympathy visit to the family of the deceased in Makurdi, the state capital, described the death as sad and very unfortunate.
