It was announced on Wednesday that the skipper of the Super Eagles, Vincent Enyeama had opted out of Saturday’s 2017 African Cup of Nation qualifiers against Tanzania without offering a reason for his decision. Unfortunately, it has now been revealed that the 33-year-old goalkeeper has lost his mother.
The Lille goalkeeper took to Instagram where he apologized to Nigerians for not being able to show up for the game. He also revealed he was in pain and wished he could turn back the hands of time.
In his words:
“So sorry I won’t make it out there to wear this shirt.so sorry that I won’t be standing there singing the anthem of my sweet NIGERIA.#WEARENIGERIA.i wish that this darkness didn’t come in daylight.i wish that I could turn back the hand of time.i wish,I just wish that I could take away this pain.let the rain wash away this pain ???????”
