28-year-old Spanish winger, Pedro Rodriguez joined Chelsea from Barcelona last month in what was a major surprise.
It was generally believed he will join Manchester United but the premier league champions hijacked the deal at the very last minute.
The former Barca man has now revealed that his former teammate and Manchester United outcast, Victor Valdes spoke to him about the Red Devils.
According to Pedro, Valdes had told him of how great a club United was but cited manager, Louis Van Gaal as the only problem the club had.
“He told me it was a very good club with great supporters and the only problem was with the coach,” the player told Marca
Pedro went further to state that he wasn’t pleased with how United treated his former teammate but that was not what prompted his decision to join Chelsea instead. The winger said Manchester United delayed too much and Chelsea acted promptly.
In his words:
“It is true that I do not like the treatment of my team-mates, especially Victor, who has been a reference for me and is a model professional.”
“I don’t think it’s fair, but that did not influence my decision.
“I just saw Man Utd wasn’t convinced to take the step of signing me, they were delaying a lot and I needed a team with which to start the new season. Chelsea acted more decisively.”
