Rémi Garde Unveiled As Aston Villa’s New Manager (SNAPSHOT)

49-year-old French coach, Rémi Garde has been unveiled as Aston Villa’s new manager.

The former Lyon coach becomes the club’s fifth coach in as many years. Garde has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the club. His first came in charge of the premier league club will be against Manchester City at Villa Park on Sunday, October 8, 2015.

The former Arsenal midfielder was at White Hart Lane on the night of Monday, November 2, 2015 where he watched his new team lose to Tottenham.

Speaking about joining Villa, Garde said:

“It’s an unbelievable honour to be the manager of such an illustrious football club.

“I’ve had extremely positive meetings with both the owner, Randy Lerner, and chief executive, Tom Fox. They have ambitious plans for the club and I’m excited they’ve turned to me to help realise them. Obviously we have a difficult task in front of us but I’m looking forward to the challenge with the support of everyone who loves Aston Villa.”
