Maya Angelou passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 and but her words and the impact she had on humanity will live on for ever.
The renowned poet, civil rights leader, educator, and celebrated pool of wisdom was one of the firsts guests on Oprah Winfrey’s Master Class.
This class is one worth attending. Dr. Angelou who Oprah Winfrey regarded as a ‘mother-sister-friend’ and of whom Oprah said, ”she will always be the rainbow in my clouds” taught on a range of topics on relationships between love and liberation, the poison of negativity, her deep-rooted confidence, her hate for modesty, the responsibility of standing up for yourself, and the power of words.

On The Power of Words, Dr. Angelou describes who words enter our walls, our clothings, and infiltrates. Words are extremely powerful. How words stay with people, and shape people and sometimes how they change people.
The next time you speak envision the words penetrating through your skin right into your heart. Then look up and picture them penetrating those around you who hear them.
