Rapper Drake Terribly Upset He Lost Rolling Stone Cover To Philip Seymour Hoffman (TWEETS)

Must read

Pouty singer/rapper/SNL phenom Drake generally comes off as affable (he is Canadian) despite his brand somewhat being defined by his perpetual case of the moods. But not this time. Drake is pissed. Drake is disgusted. The press is evil.

Drake pulled a Kanye this morning when he whined on Twitter about Rolling Stone replacing him on the cover for a shot of Philip Seymour Hoffman. (Hoffman, by the way, died, thus creating a bigger news story than a nice lil’ profile of a Degrassi Junior High alum.) The way Drake put it was “they took my cover from me,” like he was in preschool, the cover was a block, and Rolling Stone was a slightly stockier 4-year-old.

He pulled an even bigger Kanye when he complained about Rolling Stone printing things he said about Kanye. Come, let’s look:

I never commented on Yeezus for my interview portion of Rolling Stone. They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue.

I’m disgusted with that. RIP to Phillip Seymour Hoffman. All respect due. But the press is evil.

It will be interesting to see if he pulls yet another Kanye and deletes these tweets, thus getting in the way of his own accurate message.

The Kanye portion of the piece that he’s complaining about, by the way, refers to West’s 2013 album Yeezus and goes like this:

“There were some real questionable bars on there. Like that ‘Swaghili’ line? Come on, man. Even Fabolous wouldn’t say some shit like that.” But Drake says he speaks from a bedrock of deep respect: “Kanye’s the reason why I’m here. I love everything about that guy.”

Update: Drake has deleted his first two tweets on this matter, thus fulfilling my prophecy and confirming his Kanyeness.
