The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has warned the former Minister of Defence, Lt. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, to desist from insulting the late Biafran leader, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu.
The warning comes on the heels of a statement by General Danjuma that Ojukwu could have averted the bloodbath in the Biafran war if he had given up following the fall of Enugu.
MASSOB leader, Ralph Uwazuruike who spoke in Onitsha, Anambra State said the group would not sit quietly while the name of its founder was vilified in the name of politics, adding that the Biafran bloodshed would have been averted if people like General Danjuma had not advised then Nigerian Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon to shun the Aburi Accord.
Speaking through Emmanuel Omenka, his Personal Assistant and the Nnewi North Regional Administrator of MASSOB, Uwazuruike said: “He has been insulting Ojukwu. What is the concern of Ojukwu in the conceding of defeat to General Mohammadu Buhari by President Goodluck Jonathan?
“If Danjuma and his cohorts did not support Gowon, the war would have been averted.”
