Queen Expelled From Palace Over Alleged Infidelity In Delta

There was serious pandemonium in the Idumuje-Ugboko community of Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State following the expulsion of a queen from the palace for alleged infidelity leveled on her by some palace chiefs.

The Queen Mother, Her Royal Majesty Okwukwe Nwoko, told newsmen that the persons who were responsible for her expulsion were people who were bent on usurping the functions of the king, Obi Agbogidi Nwoko III, who is indisposed.

According to her, the masterminds had threatened to use legal means to secure her legitimate position, adding that the allegations were totally false.

The queen further revealed that she was seven month old pregnant with the king’s child as at the time of her ejection.

She stated her willingness to go for a DNA test or undergo the traditional oath taking to prove her innocence, adding that she had strong feelings for her husband.

Queen Nwoko pleaded with the Obi-in-Council, opinion leaders and the people of Idumuje-Ugboko to allow her go back to the palace and take care of her husband.

A member of the royal family, Prince Obi Nwoko, maintained that the Queen Mother was found to be pregnant outside wedlock and was consequently sanctioned according to the tradition and custom of the people.

However, the Iyase of Idumuje-Ugboko and a former editor, Chief Chris Ogwu, disclosed that the Obi-in-Council was yet to address the matter, adding that the 90-year-old traditional ruler was not happy over the inident.
