The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has elected Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry of Qatar, as President of the Conference for one year, with effect from 1st January 2016, Daily Trust reports.
Dr. Al-Sada was before his election, the Alternate President of OPEC. He will take over from Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu whose tenure expires January 1st 2016.
He had chaired the 168th Meeting of the OPEC Conference held in Vienna, Austria, on Friday, as its President.
