That’s Dr. Puff Daddy to you.
Sean Combs was granted an honorary doctorate on Saturday during a graduation ceremony at Howard University.
Combs, 44, gave a speech at the commencement ceremony for the Washington, D.C. university.
“Ain’t no homecoming like a Howard homecoming,” Combs began. “And it feels so good to be home.”
“Howard University didn’t just change my life — it entered my soul, my heart, my being and my spirit,” he continued. “Nobody is going to invite you to the front of the line, you got to push your way to the front of the line.”
“I can’t wait to live in the world that y’all are about to create,” he told the students. “I am a unicorn. You are a unicorn. We are unicorns.”
Combs attended Howard University as a business major in 1990, but never completed his degree.
After the speech, Combs got a standing ovation from the crowd, who also chanted “Diddy” at the rapper.
“I am humbled & honored!!! #DiddySpeechHU” the rapper wrote on his twitter account after the ceremony, posting pictures of himself in his doctoral robes.
