A 48-year-old voodoo priest has been charged to court for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl during a supposed spiritual cleansing at his backyard.
It is believed that Brogenet Cinor, took advantage of his position as a self-acclaimed priest to have unlawful carnal knowledge of several women whom the Sunrise Police have implored to come out clean and report their ordeal to them.
Speaking to The Sun-Sentinel, Sunrise Police Officer Cindi McCue said, “He was using the victims’ belief in voodoo and curses.
“They believed they could die if they didn’t follow his instructions.”
The victim, now 16, was raped in a backyard shed by the priest during a supposed spiritual cleansing.
The priest was arraigned on
on one count of sexual battery on a child less than 12 years of age.
He was however, subsequently released on $75,000 bond while the police had launched an investigation into other incidents with two other victims.
“The family, the mother and this child fully well believe in the power of voodoo, and she believed that she could be harmed or die as a result of not going forth with the cleansing,”
A neighbor said he heard Cinor chanting in the back yard, but ignored it.
