President of Nigeria’s senate, David Mark on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 stated his belief that President Goodluck Jonathan will emerge victorious at the presidential polls of Saturday, February 14, 2015, adding that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will also come out tops in other elections and in a transparent atmosphere, such that will will be acceptable to the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC.
Mark made the remark while addressing a teeming crowd at the Mangu Mini Stadium, Plateau State where he had gone to flag off the campaign of the PDP gubernatorial candidate for Plateau State, Gyang Pwajok.
Mark said: “The PDP in the North-central has deliberately chosen its candidates to win the geo-political zone. North-central is PDP and PDP is North-central. We will deliver for President Jonathan and all elective positions during the February general election.
“The PDP is not only going to win in a free, fair and credible election, but we will make sure we win in a transparent election. We in the North-central are known for doing what is right and we must do the right thing by giving our block votes to President Jonathan and all our candidates.”
While beseeching Nigerians to abhor violence during the polls, he urged Nigerians to secure their Permanent Voters Card (PVC), stating that “we in the National Assembly are suggesting that those who do not have the permanent voters’ cards should be allowed to vote with their temporary voters’ cards because they must participate and decide those who will govern them.”
