NAN – Abdallah Wali, a senator and Sokoto state governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has described the chances of President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election for a second term in office as “very high”.
Wali made the statement on Sunday in Sokoto when he featured at a news parley organised by the correspondents chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Sokoto state chapter.
“I have no doubt in my mind that Jonathan will be re-elected by Nigerians across the country,” he said.
“Jonathan should be given the chance to complete his second term, while the north will take over thereafter in 2019.”
Wali appealed to Nigerians to come out en masse and vote for Jonathan to enable him sustain his “people-oriented policies and programmes for Nigerians”.
“The president has been very supportive and Nigerians and they should reward him by re-electing him for a second term,” he added.
“He has also worked so hard to sustain democracy and ensure the prevalence of internal democracy in the PDP. Re-electing the president will ensure the entrenchment of democracy and all its globally-accepted tenets.”
Wali also expressed optimism that PDP candidates at all levels would emerge victorious in the polls.
He assured citizens and residents of the state that if elected, his administration would pay attention to the supply of water and electricity.
He added that his administration would also improve the healthcare delivery, rehabilitate roads and establish industries in the state.
