A prominent Lagos-based management consultant, Vincent Omovusu, on Tuesday, February 24 2015 stated emphatically that President Goodluck Jonathan remains the best and most credible candidate ahead of the forthcoming presidential polls to be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015.
Omovusu who spoke to newsmen said the alliance being put together by President Jonathan’s detractors will fall like a pack of cards as he has been rated as the best Nigerian leader yet.
He went on to list a number of President Jonathan’s achievements including the resurrection of the railway sector, building and equipping 64 Almajiri schools with boarding facilities, awarding more than 300,000 scholarships to Nigerians students undergoing education courses overseas under SURE-P. and the establishment of 12 Federal Universities across the country.
Omovusu also said the removal of fuel subsidy was in the interest of Nigerians as the lay man had nothing to gain from it. He said that the “mystery surrounding fuel subsidy which many have used in defrauding the country was blown open by President Jonathan administration, a situation which has pitted him against those hiding under subsidy to defraud the country.”
On former President Olusegun Obasanjo, he said the ex-president was unhappy that he was unable to control government affairs from his Otta, Ogun State farm noting that “It is absurd for him to have tore his party membership card. It is an embarrassment to the country.”
He further commended President Jonathan for his efforts to curtail the efforts of Islamist sect, Boko Haram, adding that Boko Haram – which had been in existence before President Jonathan becane president – only became more pronounced because he was elected.
He said: “the solution to the insurgency rests with the North. The moment President Jonathan leaves office Boko Haram will cease automatically because it was promoted primarily against the administration of President Jonathan.”
