According to a press release by the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Rufai Alkali, President Goodluck Jonathan will inaugurate his campaign team on Monday, January 5, 2014 in Abuja in readiness for the Saturday, February 14, 2015 election.
Alkali, who made the revelation on Thursday, January 1, 2015 said the inauguration will hold at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign office at Legacy House, in the Maitama District of Abuja by 2p.m.
Alkali further revealed that Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Tony Anenih will be appointed as the national campaign adviser, with former national Chairman of the party, Ahmadu Ali serving as Director-General of the campaign.
Other notable names on the campaign team include former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, who will act as the Southern deputy director-general of the campaign organisation; former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, who will serve as Director of Media and Publicity; former Information Minister, Jerry Gana, who will head the campaign’s contact and mobilization unit.
Other members of the campaign team and their prospective positions are:
Former Minister of Information, Aliyu Umar – Head the directorate of Administration and Logistics
Former Minister and Senator, Nenadi Isman – Head of Finance Directorate.
Former Senator Nimi Amange – Head of the Directorate of Planning, Research and Statistics,
Emmanuel Imohe – Head of the Directorate of Security and Intelligence
Abdullahi Maibasira – Youth Mobilization
Nick Eze – Head of the directorate on Civil Society and Support groups
Becky Igwe – Head of Women Mobilization.
