The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Nicholas Okoh, on Tuesday, September 30,2014 conferred on President Goodluck Jonathan the Primatial Award of Excellence in Christian Stewardship.
In addition, Okoh went in the company of some bishops of the Anglican Communion at the presidential Villa Abuja to honour Jonathan with the award.
Punch report stated that the award was initially planned to be conferred on him at the just-concluded 11th session of the church’s synod held in Enugu State, but his absence made it inevitable for the primate to take the award to the presidential villa.
Therefore, the award given to Jonathan included a medal, a plaque and a copy of the Bible.
In a statement made by Okoh,he stated that every leader is a steward under God to dispense service to the subjects.
He said the church deemed it fit to confer the award on Jonathan in a bid to proving that he has assigned and distributed the nation’s resources in a good manner.
