President Goodluck Jonathan, who was scheduled to hold a campaign rally in Akure, the capital of Ondo State on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 has cancelled the event over yet-to-be-ascertained reasons.
A new date has not been fixed.
There are conflicting reports as why the rally was cancelled, although the coordinator of the Jonathan reelection campaign in the South West and Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko stating that the cancellation was made so as to allow President Jonathan welcome former Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Kofi Annan who is paying a visit to the country.
