President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 held closed a door meeting with governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to plan strategies for the forthcoming elections.
Some of the governors present were: Sullivan Chime of Enugu State, Martin Elechi of Eboyin State, Liyel Imoke of Cross Rivers, Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta, and Babangida Aliyu of Niger and Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State. Others present were ministers from non-PDP states.
After the meeting, Chairman of the PDP Governor’s Forum, Governor Akpabio told newsmen that President Jonathan had appointed the governors as coordinators of his re-election campaign in their various states.
He also assured that the PDP will win the elections at all level, notwithstanding the noise from the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC)
He said: “The PDP will surely win this election at all levels. PDP does not rig. We can only be afraid that the APC, the way they are going, will be the ones that will attempt to rig us out.”
