President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan is currently observing the pilgrimage to the holy land of Israel alongside several notable figures, – political and spiritual – sparking rumours that the presence of the other personalities might signify a confirmation of the allegiance of Christians around the country to the president’s re-election bid.
Pictures of the pilgrimage, which were posted on social media platform, Twitter by the president’s special adviser on media and publicity, Reuben Abati show President Goodluck Jonathan in company of several governors including Willy Obiano of Anambra, Gabriel Suswam of Benue state, Jonah Jang of Plateau state and Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom state.
Others include several ministers, senators and the first ladies of Anambra and Akwa Ibom states.
Not left out of the pilgrimage were notable Christian leaders, including Ayo Oritsejafor, the president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN); World’s wealthiest pastor, David Oyedepo of Faith Tabernacle (Winners Chapel) and Anglican primate Okoh.
President Jonathan rounded up his visit to the holy land by paying a visit to the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
