As Nigerians eagerly await the announcement of the result for the presidential elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results of collated results from 8 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The states are: Ekiti, Nasarawa, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Kogi, Enugu and Ogun States.
According to results released by INEC, the number of votes for the two major contenders – President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the aforementioned states are as follows:
EKITI STATE: PDP- 176,466; APC – 120,331
NASARAWA STATE: PDP – 273,460; APC – 236,838
OYO STATE: PDP – 303,376; APC – 528,620
ONDO STATE: PDP – 251,368; APC – 299,889
OSUN STATE: PDP – 249,929; APC – 383,603
KOGI STATE: 149,987; APC – 264,851
ENUGU STATE: PDP – 553,003; APC – 14,157
OGUN STATE: PDP – 207,950; APC – 308,290
FCT: PDP – 157,195; APC – 146,399
TOTAL VOTES:
PDP – 2,322,735
APC – 2,302,978
