Incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his main challenger in the Saturday, March 28, 2015 presidential election, General Muhammadu Buhari of All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, March 26 2015 met in Abuja where they signed a renewal of a peace accord to ensure the avoidance of violence in the aftermath of the forthcoming general elections.
The meeting which also had former military Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, among others in attendance, saw both presidential candidate hug each other while beaming with smiles, a far cry from the bitterness which many believe exists between both men.
Not to be left out, the Chairmen of both the PDP and the APC, Adamu Mu’azu and John Odigie-Oyegun, were also seen in similar spirits.
