President Jonathan Confirms Yakmut As Substantive DG of NSC

President Goodluck Jonathan through the Media Adviser to Sports Minister, Patrick Omorodion in a release made available on Thursday May 14, 2015 has confirmed Alhassan Yakmut as the substantive Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

This automatically means that Hon Gbengba Elebeleye who appears to have been battling for the position has finally lost out.

Alhassan Yakmut’s appointment letter was dated Tuesday, May 12, 2015.

Yakmut was earlier appointed the Acting Director of the NSC on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 as he was the Director of the Federation of Elite Athletes Department of NSC.

The release read in part “The President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR), has approved the appointment of Mr. Alhassan Yakmut as the substantive Director General of the National Sports Commission, NSC.

“The appointment which takes immediate effect was conveyed to the Sports Minister/Chairman, National Sports Commission, Dr. Tammy Danagogo via a letter dated Tuesday, May 12, 2015 “

However, according to the SUN newspaper, Unconfirmed reports have it that Elegbeleye is to head another Federal Government parastatal in Jos, Plateau State.
